San Ramon Valley Christian Academy began as the vision of a group of dedicated Christian parents at Community Presbyterian Church who wanted to provide a Christian education for the children of the San Ramon Valley. This dream was encouraged and supported by the Senior Pastor Orville Shick. The vision became a reality when Dr. Bill Blake was hired as the first administrator in June of 1979, and the school started in the fall. There were 116 students in kindergarten through sixth grade and six teachers.

The entire school was housed in the wing below the sanctuary where the youth rooms are located now. In 1982, the first class graduated from eighth grade. In 1988, the gym and new education wing were completed and the fourth through eighth grades moved into the new building. In 1996, the whole school moved up to its present position.

There have been many changes over our history, but the purpose of the school has remained the same, to provide an excellent Christian education and encourage students to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
