Dear SRVCA Friends and Family,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving season with friends and family.  Each year as I reflect on God’s goodness, I’m mindful of the influence SRVCA has had on my own household.  I have had the privilege of experiencing its ministry as a teacher, administrator, parent, and volunteer and have seen countless ways God uses the Academy to transform families and equip students for the future He has planned for each one.

As I try to paint a picture in my mind of why I am so grateful each year for SRVCA, I can’t help but recall a conversation a few years back with a close friend who told me that life can be compared to a tapestry.  If you were to flip it on its backside, you’d notice messy threads and loose ends.  An occasional pattern might be seen but overall it would be hard to determine the intricate design planned for the other side.  When the tapestry is complete, its beauty is recognized immediately.  You can see an intentional purpose for each chosen thread, color, and design.  No longer do you see the messy backside, rather the beautifully completed project.

Raising children through the elementary and junior high school years could be easily compared to a tapestry.  There are some occasional messy threads and moments of uncertainty of what the outcome may be.  Once it is complete, however you see its beauty in the various colors, patterns, and designs.  In His Word, God reminds us “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1Peter 2:9).

"As we shepherd children through this season, our teachers

are partnering with parents, grandparents, pastors, and friends

to equip each one to be all God has planned for the future."

Just like that tapestry, we anticipate every student will be a completed work of art that brings pleasure to others and reflects the vision of its Creator.

As we head into the month of December, I ask you to prayerfully consider supporting SRVCA with a year-end donation.  Gifts to the Academy not only strengthen the academic program, but further the overall mission of SRVCA to equip students for God’s future purposes.  In other words, your donation makes an eternal difference in the life of each student and those he/she touches long after leaving SRVCA. Just as a tapestry may be crafted by group effort, so your donation allows you to be part of the finished product in the life of a child.  We consider it a great privilege to partner with you as together we share in God’s ministry at the San Ramon Valley Christian Academy.

May you have a blessed Christmas filled with reminders of God’s goodness and grace.

In His Service, Jamie Westgate
