Faith & Service

TK

Faith and service are at the heart of our transitional kindergarten program, helping young learners begin to understand what it means to love God and others. Through daily Bible stories, prayer, and songs, children are introduced to God’s Word and the truth of His love for them. Teachers model Christlike attitudes such as kindness, forgiveness, and respect, guiding students in practicing these qualities in their interactions with classmates. Chapel time gives our TK students the opportunity to participate in weekly worship and corporate Bible teaching.  Service is taught in simple, age-appropriate ways—sharing toys, helping a friend, or participating in classroom and schoolwide acts of kindness. By weaving faith and service into every part of the day, our transitional kindergarten program lays a spiritual foundation that encourages children to grow as joyful followers of Jesus.

Kindergarten

In Kindergarten, students begin their school journey with a strong foundation in faith and service. Each day includes Bible lessons, prayer, and helping children understand that God made them, loves them, and has a special plan for their lives. Teachers nurture Christlike qualities such as kindness, sharing, and forgiveness, guiding students to practice these in their classroom relationships. Chapel on Fridays is our favorite day of the week.  Not only do students participate in worship and corporate Bible learning, kindergarteners also lead our school community in chapel twice a year.  Service opportunities are simple and age-appropriate, such as helping a friend, caring for the classroom, or joining in schoolwide projects that bless others. By weaving faith and service into learning, play, and community, the kindergarten program helps children take their first steps in growing as followers of Jesus who love God and love others.

1st

In first grade, faith and service are woven into every part of our Christian school experience, helping students grow in both knowledge and character. Daily Bible lessons and prayer time teach children about God’s love and truth, encouraging them to apply Scripture to their everyday lives. Teachers model Christlike attitudes of kindness, respect, and forgiveness, guiding students in how to live out their faith at school and at home. Our weekly chapel program helps to support this Christian worldview and character as students hear from faithful leaders who share the hope of God’s Word each week.  First graders also open our chapel time twice a year, leading their school community in praise and truth.  Service is introduced through age-appropriate opportunities, such as helping classmates, writing cards of encouragement, or supporting school-wide mission projects. By integrating faith and service into academics, enrichment, and relationships, our first grade program nurtures young hearts to love God and others in practical, meaningful ways.

2nd

In second grade, students grow in their faith as they learn to see God’s hand in every subject and activity. Bible lessons help them understand more deeply who Jesus is and how to follow Him daily, while prayer and Scripture memorization strengthen their relationship with the Lord. Service opportunities encourage students to look beyond themselves, whether by helping younger students, participating in class projects that bless others, or contributing to mission efforts.  Our second graders complete a yearly affirmation project that helps them grow in their identity as children of God. Our chapel times help support the spiritual growth that takes place throughout the week through praise and worship and a time of corporate learning from God’s Word. Our second graders also lead our school community twice a year with a chapel opening, giving our students confidence on stage to share their faith with others.  Through academics, enrichment, and friendships, second graders are guided to live out their faith with kindness, humility, and a desire to serve others as Christ served us.

3rd

In third grade, faith and service are integrated in ways that help students connect what they believe with how they live. Bible study encourages them to apply God’s Word to real-life situations, developing discernment and a personal walk with Christ. Students take on greater responsibility in service, both within the classroom and through outreach projects, learning that their actions can make a difference for others. Our weekly chapels help support the spiritual development of our students while also providing opportunities for our 3rd graders to be on stage in front of their peers.  Teachers emphasize character traits such as perseverance, respect, and compassion, modeling what it means to serve God wholeheartedly. By weaving faith into academics, enrichment, and community, the third grade program nurtures students to grow as disciples who live out their faith in meaningful ways.

4th

In fourth grade, students are encouraged to strengthen their personal faith while learning how their gifts can be used to serve others. Bible lessons challenge them to dig deeper into Scripture and to see God’s truth throughout the Old Testament . Service becomes a more intentional part of their experience, whether through classroom leadership roles, school service projects, or acts of kindness that reflect Christ’s love. Our students all look forward to our weekly chapels where we praise the Lord together while also hearing from God’s Word.  4th graders lead a chapel opening twice a year for our school community, giving our students the opportunity to become comfortable sharing their faith to a large audience.  Teachers guide students in developing integrity, empathy, and responsibility, helping them recognize service as both a privilege and a calling. Faith and service together shape fourth graders to become young leaders who seek to honor God in word and deed.

5th

In fifth grade, students are prepared to live out their faith with greater independence and ownership. Bible instruction equips them to understand God’s Word more deeply and to apply it as they face new challenges and opportunities. Bible lessons focus on the life of Christ and provide opportunities for fruitful conversations and discussion in the classroom.  Service is emphasized as a central part of the Christian life, with students encouraged to take initiative in helping others at school, at home, and in the community. First grade buddies allow our fifth graders to practice humility, responsibility, and teamwork as they set an example for younger students. Fifth grade students open chapel three times a year, giving opportunity for leadership and confidence on stage.  By integrating faith and service into every aspect of learning, the fifth grade program prepares students to enter middle school as confident, compassionate followers of Christ who are eager to serve Him.
