TK students walk through the Bible in a way that helps them learn about God’s creativity, power, and great plans for us. Kids learn more about the character of God as they interact with dynamic Bible stories in ways that are age appropriate and fun. Most importantly, children are assured of God’s infinite love for all of us.

We take a phonics-based approach to reading with emphasis placed on one letter each week. Through songs, guided practice, thematic literature/poetry units, and projects, students will be able to identify, sound out, and properly form their letters. Writing activities with correct pencil grip begins a foundation of proper writing habits. By the end of the year students begin to sound out words and know a number of sight words.

Transitional Kindergarten allows students the opportunity to engage in concepts such as number recognition, counting, and patterns in a hands-on manner. Activities allow for free exploration, practice concept mastery, and connection to further everyday math skills.

Students will explore and discover more about their world through indoor and outdoor activities focused on growing an inquisitive mind. Whether it’s building, designing, or experimenting, your child will be left with a sense of wonder about the incredible world God designed.

A community focused approach allows TK students to feel a sense of belonging in school. Students will have visits from important guest speakers who help our local community. History is learned through the planning and celebration of holidays. God designed us for relationships so Social Studies lessons focus on friendship, empathy, manners, cooperative play and self-control. Students will learn many ways to connect with and serve others.

Our Kimochis curriculum introduces students to six main characters and their distinctive feelings and personalities. Through weekly lessons and extension activities children are given tools to promote self-regulation, reflection, rethinking choices and behaviors and conflict resolution. Enabling children to practice these skills enhances their communication and relationship skills.
