• The first grade Bible is a walk-through of Old and New Testaments. The focus is on learning more about God and His nature as students observe His interactions with man. Students are encouraged to know Christ as their personal Savior and obey and serve Him faithfully. Prayer and memory verse are a regular part of first grade.

  • The two primary goals of the Superkids program are to produce independent readers and writers and to provide outstanding literary and character building selections. Progress is evaluated in oral reading, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and vocabulary growth. Fiction, animal tales, biographical stories, scripture reading and poetry are genres incorporated into the reading and writing program.

  • This rigorous program balances conceptual understanding with math procedures and application. Each lesson offers digital math tools, modeling, differentiation and real life application. Calendar math, patterning, estimating, counting, addition, subtraction, time, and measurement are introduced and regularly reviewed with games and hands-on activities. Students learn math facts for numbers 1-13 through oral and written practices.

  • Students explore and experience a variety of areas with an emphasis on God’s creation. Units on living vs. nonliving, animals, insects, plants, the earth and its lights, sound, weather and seasons allow first graders to explore age appropriate interests. Hands-on activities give students a multi-sensory approach to learning science in the world around them.

  • Students are introduced to US history by focusing on important symbols, places of interest, historical figures, and important happenings in the USA. Students use maps, globes, pictures, and stories to learn about historical events and how our country fits into the world. In addition, character studies of famous Americans help students understand how God uses individual talents for leadership opportunities.
