• The seventh grade Bible class focuses on the Old Testament. Students study individual characters from the Old Testament and an associated character trait that applies to the story being read. Along with learning the cultural and historical context of each individual, students discuss how to apply that particular characteristic to their own lives.

  • Seventh grade language arts focuses on reading, critical thinking, writing, and speaking. Students will continue to build their grammar skills, vocabulary, literary analysis and interpretation, formal and creative writing, and speech. Students increase their understanding of different genre of literature and practice their use of new vocabulary words. Students engage in a series of writing units designed to help them understand the structure of various writing forms such as narrative, argumentative, informational and literary analysis. Students are encouraged to apply Christian perspective and principles when writing and analyzing literary works.

  • Seventh grade students are enrolled in one of three math classes: Pre-Algebra, Pre-Algebra(2), or Algebra 1. Each Pre-Algebra class moves at a pace appropriate for that group of students. Small student-teacher ratios and leveled math classes allow students to master developmentally appropriate concepts with confidence. Units of study include fractions, decimals, percentages, positive and negative numbers, equations, inequalities, geometry, area, volume, square roots, probability, and statistics in Pre-Algebra. Rigorous Algebra 1 program balances conceptual understanding with math procedures and application. Polynomials and quadratic equations are also introduced.

  • Life Science covers the topics of zoology and botany, specifically: cells, genetics, bacteria/viruses, plant and animal kingdoms. Students explore fundamental life science concepts and basic investigative skills. An awareness of the unique relationship of the Bible, life science and the world is explored.

  • Beginning with the fall of Rome, social studies covers the Byzantine Empire, the Rise of Islam, medieval cultures including Africa, Asia, Mesoamerica, and Europe, the Renaissance and Reformation; all from a Christian perspective.

  • Seventh grade Spanish focuses on acquiring the language in line with a high school Spanish I class. Students will acquire appropriate language to understand descriptions, narration, and informational contexts.
